Our Nursery Fees
Funded Childcare
Funded Hours
The UK government provides funded childcare options for 38 weeks of the year to help reduce the cost of nursery care for eligible families.
These include:
• 30 hours of childcare for all babies and children of eligible working parents from 9 months to 4 years old
• 15 hours of childcare for every 3 and 4-year-old irrespective of whether their parents are working or not
• 15 hours of childcare for 2-year-olds from disadvantaged families
When to Apply
Applications for funded childcare typically open a few months before your child reaches the eligible age or the start of each school term. It’s important to apply early to secure your funding. The new funding will be deducted from your fees, the school term following your child turning 9 months old. A new funding claim cannot be made midway through a school term.

Understanding Your 30 Hours Funded Childcare
At Brambley Cottage, we are ready to support you in making the most of this funding to help with your childcare costs.
How Do We Apply Funding To Your Fees?
As the Government pays childcare funding for only 38 weeks of the year, yet we’re open for 51 weeks of the year, there are 13 weeks when we don’t receive any money. In order for you to get the most out of your funding and keep your fees the same every month, we stretch it over the full year. This means that 30 hours of funding will pay for just over 2 days of childcare.
Will I Have Anything Else To Pay?
If your funding covers the cost of your nursery fees, then you will have nothing else to pay us until your child turns 3. Once this happens, the Government’s funding rate reduces to less than our hourly rate so we have to make a charge for food on funded days in order to make up the loss and ensure our business remains financially viable. Our food package is called ‘Let’s Eat!’ and is £6.60 per day. This is optional however, if you would like to provide your child’s food for each funded day then you are more than welcome to. We will provide you with a list of what you can and can’t bring in due to other children’s allergies at the time and our healthy eating ethos.
If your child attends more than 2 days then you will have nursery fees to pay for the time/days not covered by the Government childcare funding. We will advise you what this will be per month, in an invoice.
